One of NADEV’s pre occupations is her continuous advocacy on gender issues, GBV and its effects on the victim, perpetrator and the society at large. After reaching 10 communities half way of it 2019 Operational Plan,  the organisation intensified sensitizations on GBV by reaching 10 more communities; Maleke, Nkongpen, Yapaki,  Buadibo, Loum, Melong, Mboukok, 02 in Nkongsamba III and Souza in Moungo and Menoua Divisions. During these sensitizations, NADEV create a friendly environment in which participants discussed the causes and consequences of GBV and share experiences. Major causes identified during sessions include misunderstanding among couples, unemployment (for women), low income, poverty and tradition. Participants are equally sensitized on psycho-social first aid, different service providers and the different fines levied on perpetrators depending on the type of violence according to the Cameroon Penal Code. These sensitizations act as an eye opener and change the perception of beneficiaries concerning GBV and gender related issues.
